[Name]
The organization shall be known as General Incorporated Association OpenSUSI, and in English as Open Source Utilized Silicon Initiatives.
[Purpose]
The purpose of this organization is to reduce the barriers to entry for custom semiconductor design by restructuring domestic semiconductor assets (chip manufacturing capabilities) into a shared platform. Through this, the organization aims to create an environment in which Japanese industry can remain competitive in the global market through the development and use of custom semiconductors.
To achieve the above purpose, the organization shall engage in the following activities:
-
Planning, development, and provision of open-source semiconductor PDKs (Process Design Kits)
-
Provision of prototyping services for custom semiconductors under open-source or economically favorable conditions designed to stimulate latent demand
-
Planning and operation of open-source semiconductor design communities, including human resource development through such communities
-
Accumulation and public dissemination of know-how related to open-source semiconductor PDKs
-
Development, management, and protection of intellectual property related to semiconductors
-
Planning and operation of lectures, exhibitions, symposiums, and seminars
-
Planning, production, and sale of books, magazines, printed materials, and similar publications
-
